Meet the Midwife:
Dr. Kim Taylor, DNP, CNM, LM
Kim is a native of the Prattville/Billingsley area in Alabama. She completed a bachelor's degree in nursing at Troy University in 2013 and then served as an officer in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps as a Labor & Delivery RN where she worked on high-volume/high-acuity units and obtained the Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) certification.
In 2018, she graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Nurse-Midwifery and officially became a board-certified Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) through The American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB). She worked as a hospital-based midwife for a busy OB/GYN practice in Washington state, gaining experience with diverse populations, managing a variety of clinical situations, and working closely/collaboratively with the home-birth community. In 2022, Kim moved to Alabama and obtained a second national board-certification as a Certified Professional Midwife through the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and opened her own home-birth practice. In 2023, she completed her Doctorate degree (Doctor of Nursing Practice) from Troy University.
Kim has had the privilege of being a midwife at >400 births within the home, birth center, and hospital settings (and hundreds more as a Labor & Delivery RN).
